Hamworthy Heating –
Warehouse Redesign
Poole, Dorset
Works: Complete survey of existing layout, CAD designs, of which there were several revisions. Site management and installation all to our very high standards.
Duration: 2 weeks on site
The Project:
We worked closely with the Continuous Improvement Manager, to produce a solution that worked for them to streamline and improve their warehouse to enable a more efficient production process. We worked on various schemes and layouts, producing drawings to be discussed with the operators and management, this process went on for over a year to get this just right
Existing
The existing pallet racking was too narrow and did not make the best use of the space available.
Project Brief
To design a warehouse storage solution to create a more efficient workplace, with all racking to be the correct size and fit for purpose.
Constraints
To use as much of the existing pallet racking as possible, bearing in mind the several different racking systems currently in place.
Solutions
We designed a racking layout utilising one type of their existing racking, splicing extra height as necessary and adding new materials to create uniformed runs of racking that could be interchangeable for future changes. We managed the project by working with the customer’s need to keep the warehouse open and production functioning. Phasing the job to avoid too much disruption in the day to day running of the company.
