Stalbridge Linen – Mezzanine Floor Refurbishment

Brief: Refurbishment of the Mezzanine Floor.

Stalbridge Linen have a large Distribution Centre in Milborne Port that also doubles as a Cleaning, Folding & Sorting area. We had been asked to quote to carry out a major refurbishment of the Mezzanine Floor within the Hot Press / Ironing Department, the whole floor needed to be enclosed to stop the lint from the hot machines covering all of the clean stock that was stored within this area, along with a new Air-conditioning unit to keep the area cool.
There was also the need for a safer way of getting the stock from the Ground Floor up to the storage area without the need of the staff carrying everything up the stairs.
Once the project was awarded to CSS, deadlines were created and works scheduled, plans finalised, with the works having to be undertaken out of normal working hours so as not to disrupt the day to day operations of Stalbridge Linen.
The underside of the Mezzanine floor was given a 2 Hour fire rating and a new lift was supplied and installed to carry 2 cages at a time, a new staircase was supplied and installed after major alterations to the mezzanine floor to accommodate the new layout.

The mezzanine floor refurbishment work was undertaken within their time scale of 4 weeks and exceeded their expectations and deadlines.
